The surface states of 3D topological insulators in general have negligible quantum oscillations when the chemical potential is tuned to Dirac points. In contrast, we find that Kondo can support with an arbitrarily large Fermi pinned point. We illustrate these surfaces give rise finite-frequency oscillations, which become comparable extremal area unhybridized bulk bands. show this occurs crystal symmetry lowered from cubic tetragonal a minimal two-orbital model. label such modes as `shadow states'. Moreover, sufficient next-nearest neighbor out-of-plane hybridization leading shadow be self-consistently stabilized for insulators.
